It seems that more and more are choosing to do their workouts at home these days. This is really good if it gets people working out consistently. But I have to admit it is not so good for me as a professional trainer if people are doing their own workouts without me.

However, I would rather see a healthful society than have more business in the gym. You have to understand that training is not just a job for me, but it is truly my passion and my personal commitment, too.

We are seeing more women take their workouts home, and I think this can be explained for a number of reasons, but the top one is most likely this. Many times I have found that many women do not want to be seen exercising in a public place. That is why many women-only gyms and women-only classes have become such a hit.

When women at home are just starting a workout plan, have a few extra pounds to lose, and feel out of shape it becomes a self-conscience catch 22. These women might be scared to go back to the gym because they feel that they are out of shape, but cannot get back into shape because they are neglecting their workouts at the gym! That is when a new workout plan at home is the best answer.

Some studies have shown that women are more consistent at home than at the gym or in a group, leading to better results.

More ways that workouts at home for women are becoming so popular is because of the busyness of everyone’s lives. Our city is always going nonstop, and quite truthfully it has become very hard to make time to squeeze in a workout even if it is only 3 times. When women plan a workout at home, usually the best time is in the morning before work. As soon as you get home, and before sitting down to have supper is also a great time. Making sure that you plan your workout into your daily to do list so that it is sure to happen. Do not forget that consistency is the key.

So why the increase for at home workouts for women? This is for many reasons of course. We all know that many times it is just too much to go to the busy gym, or drive any more to go to a boot camp class.

Why don’t we look into the idea of workouts for women at home and find out how they can work great or not at all.

Yet another reason women do not want to take their workouts home because they think that all the expensive gym equipment is completely necessary for a good body-toning/body fat burning/body shaping workout. Every now and again there might be a good piece of equipment that is very specific and effective, but for the most part, you can do everything in your workout at home. You can at least lose weight and tone your body working out at home, and that is for sure.

Do remember when planning your workout at home is to keep it basic. You honestly do not need much equipment: just some light weights, exercise bands, and an exercise ball can give you a killer workout and actually help you reach your health and fitness goals faster than you think.

The hardest obstacle is finding and maintaining motivation to not get distracted by things like TV, phone calls, social media, etc. For this most people have found that a spare room, garage, or even the back patio helps to minimize distractions. But the temptation of going to the refrigerator and snacking will constantly be a factor.

As a personal trainer, it makes me happy to see everyone involved with a total body exercise plan. Find yourself a good solid full body workout plan to follow, and make sure it is one that mixes in some cardio training with your resistance.

Women can easily find great workouts at home by looking for articles, videos, books and other resources that make a clear plan easy to follow. Of course, it is a very good idea that you have a personal trainer help you plan out your workouts. Once you try a workout that you can do in the comfort of your own home and achieve some body toning results from it, you will see how you can stick to it to save time and money.
